These sessions use the therapeutic tools of yoga to guide people who have physical or mental health concerns.   Perhaps you are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or have a physical condition such as chronic pain, insomnia, or want to improve your posture.  These examples are not exhaustive and together we can address a whole range of issues. 

Yoga Therapy is an holistic approach, where we look at your lifestyle and design a program tailored specifically for you to address any particular issues you may have, and bring balance and harmony to your life as a whole. 

Yoga Therapy with me is an empowering way to aid recovery for the mind and body using asanas, kriyas, pranayama, energy healing, mindfulness and relaxation techniques. 

A tailored home practice will be agreed after each session for you to bring the practices into your daily life.  No prior experience of yoga is needed.  Ideal during pregnancy.

Himalayan Hatha is based on the traditional principles of yoga, and is both strong and supportive for the physical body.  Whilst developing strength and improving flexibility, the special sequencing also purifies and revitalises the entire body.  The practice balances the nervous system and endocrine system, whilst also bolstering the immune system.  Incorporated into a flow, asanas are held for a number of breaths to enable maximum benefit from each posture and invite stillness to the mind. 

Relieves muscular tension, strengthens the lower back, increases mental & physical stamina, reduces stress & anxiety, brings present moment focus, and improves overall well being.

Restorative Yoga restores and rejuvenates the body.   Postures are held for up to five minutes, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, and allowing the muscles, joints, and fascia to release tension.  Sequences incorporate forward folds and hip openers, with a focus on taking the awareness inwards for a deep relaxation of the mind and body.  This practice enables the body to rebuild its resources and focus on the immune system, whilst releasing tension from the nervous system and recharging the body with energy.

Prana Kriya Yoga is a practice that works directly on the energetic body, which gives access to the hidden potential of your true self.  This results in freeing you from beliefs and behavioural patterns that may be holding you back in life.  The kriyas directly access the chakra system via techniques of controlling the breath, and using mudras and bandhas, in combination with specific movements of the body.  Transforming the energy within the body in this way has a powerful effect on developing physical, physiological and psychological stamina and resilience.

Using simple yet powerful meditation techniques are a way to align ourselves with our true nature.  Clearing the daily mind clutter and the unconscious mind, we can change our habits, behaviours and actions. Through meditation a greater self awareness is developed, providing more insight and clarity, and a deep connection with our source of power.  

Reiki is a Japanese technique that promotes healing within the body wherever it is needed by channelling the flow of life force energy.  Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that is open to everyone.   It is used for stress reduction and deep relaxation, and works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery and wellbeing.

Yoni Shakti Pregnancy Yoga classes provide a sacred space for pregnant women to enjoy the benefits of yoga at this most transformative time of life.  Yoga therapy techniques are used to support women through pregnancy, birth and postnatal recovery.  These powerful and deeply nourishing classes enable women to reconnect with their inner power and wisdom, providing the tools to help navigate through these major changes.

Classes are comprised of movement, breathwork and rest.  It is an important time to keep the body healthy, and balance the nervous system & endocrine system, whilst forging a deep connection with the body and unborn child.
